FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Smoke Fiend Sally, the debut single from D-ROQ + BULLETPROOF SOUL on 4.20.22 through Indie 500 Records.

Groove to what's sure to be the hottest joint of the summer.
The dancehall reggae track features D-Roq's soulful, dub vocal backed by Carlos Verdugo's (Sublime with Rome) skanking drum patterns. Eleadah Jeuel adds irie summer vibes with her ethereal backing vocals, while producer duo "Johnsons", Eric Klee Johnson and Marc Johnson, create sonic head trips at their home base recording studio, and clubhouse for D-Roq + Bulletproof Soul, The Pop Machine.
Smoke Fiend Sally is topped off by Naptown jazz legend, Byron Johnson's signature soprano sax hook line.
There's not been a better sax earworm on a radio single since Chuck Mangione's Feels So Good.

D-Roq spits the lead vocal like a reggaeton battle cry, a musical shot. His top line lyrics reference classic songs by

Chuck Berry, Rick James, Peter Tosh, and Musical Youth. D-Roq and Johnson's shared love for Peter Tosh's 1981 hit, Coming in Hot, led to the working title of Hot Toshi. However, once D-Roq put pen to paper, he created the mythical Rastafarian superfreak known as Smoke Fiend Sally.
